AIS has managed to hold membership dues rates steady since 2019. This is a noteworthy achievement given the inflation experienced during this time. AIS Council recently approved an overall 7% dues adjustment. For individual academic members at the Very High HDI rate, this represents an increase of $14 a year; for doctoral students at the Very High HDI rate, the adjustment is $9 a year. Members in High, Medium, and Low HDI tiers will see proportionate adjustments. You can find your specific rate using this dues calculator.
WHAT MEMBERSHIP DUES FUND
Although careful financial management has allowed the ability to hold rates steady for six years, the operational costs of running a global scholarly society have risen significantly since the last adjustment.
Member dues directly support the shared infrastructure and programs the community relies on, such as:
Journal Operations, Management, and Publication: There are ten AIS journals (in addition to 32 SIG & Chapter related collections) operating through AIS eLibrary that are processing thousands of submissions, coordinating peer reviews, copying-editing, managing issues, volumes, uploads and downloads from submission, through production, to publication each year. On average, the AIS eLibrary adds 4,000 new scholarly peer-reviewed articles every year.
Conference Continuity: Sustained delivery of core conference ecosystem through the pandemic and beyond, alongside the continued global rotations of ICIS and regional conferences.
The AIS eLibrary has expanded by 68% since 2019 with 30,000 new scholarly articles (now totaling over 73,000), alongside the additions of MISQE and ITD to the journal portfolio and the recent launch of the new eLibrary Assistant tool.
Technology Infrastructure: The modernization of core systems in the Association, including Aisnet.org, AISWorld, and the member portal at members.aisnet.org to better ensure reliable, secure access to our global systems, research tools and resources.
