AIS Fellow Award

The AIS Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the information systems discipline in terms of research, teaching and service.

About the Award

Established in 1999 by the AIS Council and the ICIS Executive Committee, the award honors those whose work has helped advance the discipline and strengthen its impact around the world.

AIS Fellows represent the highest standards of professional and personal integrity and serve as respected leaders within the information systems community.

Qualifications for the Award

Nominees for the AIS Fellow Award are expected to have made exceptional contributions in at least one of the following areas: research, teaching or service. They should also have made significant contributions in the other two areas.

In addition, nominees should demonstrate:

  • Significant global contributions to the information systems discipline
  • Outstanding local contributions within their country or region
  • A record of leadership, professionalism and integrity
  • The ability to serve as a role model and source of inspiration for colleagues and students
  • The respect of individuals both within and outside the information systems discipline

AIS Fellows must be current members of AIS and must remain members until they retire from full-time work.
