ICIS Outstanding Committee Member Service Award

About the Award

The ICIS Outstanding Committee Member Service Award recognizes one member of the ICIS conference committee who has demonstrated exceptional service (clearly above and beyond expectations), dedication, and impact in support of the conference.

This recognition reflects the Association for Information Systems’ commitment to acknowledging outstanding volunteer leadership and contributions that are critical to the success of ICIS.

The ICIS Outstanding Committee Member Service Award will only be awarded in exceptional cases and is not envisioned to be handed out every year.

Eligibility

Any member of the ICIS conference committee in the respective year, with the exception of the conference co-chairs, is eligible for recognition.
A person can only receive this award once.

The Selection Process

  • Each year, the conference co-chairs will review the performance and contributions of the committee members.
  • Based on their direct experience and input from relevant stakeholders, the conference co-chairs can select one individual whose contributions stood out in the aforementioned selection criteria.
  • A maximum of one individual can be recognized each year. The award should only be given in exceptional cases. It may be not be given each year.
  • The selection is at the discretion of the conference co-chairs and does not require an open call for nominations.
  • The conference co-chairs present the case for the envisioned candidate at the ICIS EC meeting at respective ICIS conference.
  • The ICIS EC approves or rejects the nomination.

Selection Criteria

The recipient will be selected based on outstanding performance and going far beyond the expected duties of a committee member to support the overall conference effort. The nominated committee member must clearly exceed an already necessary professional and timely performance and demonstrate deeper commitment and dedication that separates them from the other committee members.

Recognition

  • The selected individual will be named the “Recipient of the xxx ICIS Outstanding Committee Member Service Award” (xxxx = the respective year)
  • The recognition may include a formal certificate or plaque, and visibility through AIS communication channels.
  • The recognition will be publicly presented during ICIS, during one of its events.
