Instructions for Universities

AIS Placement Service provides a link from our University Listing Page to your postition announcement posted on your university server as well as access to those applicants seeking positions. Only those registered with the AIS Placement Service will be given access to the Placement facilities at AMCIS and ICIS, if they are ALSO paid registrants for the conference.

How Much Does it Cost?

For a fee of USD $250, your university position page will be linked from the placement site listed alphabetically, listed by primary research/teaching interest, and listed by geographic region. You can post as many positions to your own page as you wish, without any addtional fees. Your recruitment committee will be able to browse the following listings:

Applicant resumes/c.v.s listed alphabetically
Applicant resumes/c.v.s listed by primary research/teaching interest
Applicant resumes/c.v.s listed in order by date of posting

Placement fees may be paid by check, credit card, or request an invoice on the placement sign-up form. If your university requires an invoice, please review the special instructions for INVOICING.  After registering for placement services, please allow four working days to process the credit card or check payment. Information to access the placement listings will be e-mailed to you. A receipt for payment will be also mailed to you.

Where do I Start?

Before you sign-up for AIS placement services, prepare your Website first, as in the University Sample. Please assign the task of signing-up for placement to someone who understands Web pages. In order to register a university, it is vital that the university first create and post a standardized university position listing on the World Wide Web (WWW). Your link will also be categorized by selected Research & Teaching Specializations needed. Choose from the Research & Teaching Specializations List.
After the position page is on the Web, then please fill out the on-line sign-up form and indicate the URL of the position page, NOT THE URL OF THE UNIVERSITY! For example, give the URL: http://www.university.edu/position.htm not the URL: http://www.university.edu

How do I Sign Up

Now you are ready to sign up for AIS Placement Services

How Do I Access the Site?

The userid and password will be given only to the contact person named on the online sign-up form. The contact person is responsible for distributing the password information to relevant colleagues at his or her university involved in recruiting. Many people email us and ask for the URL because their university has posted a listing. With the hundreds of participants, it is too difficult for us to verify the potential pool of valid browsers.

What is the Deadline?

The on-line system will be updated continuously so there is no specific deadline for submitting information to be included on the Web. If you want your information available electronically at the AMCIS Conference or the ICIS Conference, you must submit it at least 21 days prior to the first day of the conference. One week prior to the first day of the conference. However, AIS Placement is an on-going year-round activity that is not tied exclusively to the AIS hosted placement rooms at our conferences. Please keep in mind that the AIS Office is dedicated to supporting our conferences the week before each event and cannot guarantee that ads/posting/browse requests in that time frame will be initiated before the end of the conference. Sign up early, check back often!

What Happens When we Fill the Position?

After you fill your position, please note the change in status on your standardized university position listing. Similarly, after an applicant accepts a position, the status will be changed on his or her page. The AIS Placement Service keeps both applicants and positions on the listings even after positions have been accepted and/or filled because it helps track the progress of recruiting.
