Featured SIG: SIGHCI
This month’s featured SIG is the Special Interest Group on Human Computer Interaction (SIGHCI), which is comprised of an enthusiastic group of over 250 members from over 30 countries, and 618 listserve subscribers—making it the association’s largest SIG.
The chair of SIGHCI, Dr. Dianne Cyr, writes:
"This year we are excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the SIGHCI with a special reception and celebration at ICIS in Shanghai. The SIG is very active, and most recently took on the task to redevelop the SIGHCI website under the leadership of Past Chair Dezhi Wu. Upcoming SIGHCI initiatives include increasing student as well as regular memberships. We have a loyal following in the SIGHCI, and are keen to invite new members to join."
This year, the HCI Workshop attracted 127 willing reviewers, a number that represents a 144% increase over last year’s figure. Seeking to stay connected with its members, SIGHCI has established a new website, a bi-annual newsletter, and a SIGHCI forum on the new AIS Social Network.
