AIS and MyVision continue their partnership to give AIS members another year of free access to the research ranking service.
Free for AIS members with a simple registration, this Software Service tracks publications in eight leading IS journals in the AIS Senior Scholars’ basket of journals. At present, the database includes data for the years 1990-2016.
Provided by Viswanath Venkatesh from the University of Arkansas, this service helps the entire IS community by assessing research productivity of universities and faculty members in terms of publications in the AIS basket of journals.
“Venkatesh’s tireless work to continue this service helps to strengthen the entire IS community,” said Jason Thatcher, AIS President. “Additionally, since its re-launch last year, the service provides a secure HTTPS website, top-200 rankings and university rankings by regions.”
The ranking service also functions as a useful tool in assessing scholars’ progress toward promotion and tenure, providing decision-makers the information needed to set standards for faculty productivity, tenure, hiring and promotion, salary and more.
Venkatesh is a distinguished professor and Billingsley Chair in Information Systems at the Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, and is widely regarded as one of the most influential scholars in business.
