It’s that time of year again.  The snow has melted, the flowers are blooming, and the Student Chapters are getting excited for the Student Chapters Leadership Conference!  This year’s conference will be held at Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business with Alex Lopes and Bipin Prabhakar serving as conference co-chairs and boasts SAP University Alliances as its presenting sponsor.

Students from all over the United States and from as far away as Poland, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are preparing to head to Bloomington, Indiana, to compete in the finals of the IBM Bluemix Competition, the Merck Analytics Challenge, the IS Security Case Competition, and the SAP ERPSim competition.  However, the Student Chapters Leadership Conference is not just about those competing in the competitions.

The conference promises to be an amazing experience for all participants, with keynote speeches from industry luminaries including Hewlett-Packard Distinguished Technologist and National Lifecycle Manager, Bruce Michelson.  Over his distinguished 30 year plus career, Bruce has authored more than 600 white papers, five books, and has consulted with more than 300 companies in the Fortune 500.

In addition to the keynotes, the conference will feature case analysis workshops by Indiana University’s Tony Gerth, as well as breakout sessions featuring presentations from high profile technology companies such as IBM and award winning Student Chapters sharing best practices.   There will also be an opening reception and awards dinner for the participants.

Would you like for your students to get in on the action?  Then you need to start an AIS Student Chapter!  If you would like more information about the Student Chapters Leadership Conference or the Student Chapters Program in general, don’t hesitate to contact me at vpstudentchapters@aisnet.org.

Sincerely,

James Parrish
VP of Student Chapters
