AIS is fortunate to have many members who make significant contributions to better the association, the IS industry, and IS education. Nominations are now open for some of the association's prestigious awards, which honor the contribution of qualified and highly-regarded AIS members in all aspects of the field of information systems. Nominations reflecting the diversity of the profession are particularly encouraged. Recipients will be announced at ICIS 2015 In Fort Worth, Texas. Nominations for the following awards are due by October 1, 2015.
New AIS Awards to Honor Members.
The following awards were established by Council this year to recognize outstanding contributions from members at different stages of their careers. These awards will be granted for the first time in 2015.
Doctoral Student Service Award The Doctoral Student Service Award recognizes volunteer contributions made by doctoral students toward the success of AIS conferences, journals, and programs.
Early Career Award The Early Career Award recognizes individuals in the early stages of their careers who have already made outstanding research, teaching, and/or service contributions to the field of information systems.
Sandy Slaughter Service Award The AIS Service Award recognizes longstanding members who have provided leadership within the association, particularly through such activities as participating in the SIGs/chapters/colleges, strengthening the conferences, and participating in AIS-sponsored journals.
AIS Awards to Honor Contributions to IS Education
The AIS Education Awards are bestowed upon those who have published excellent papers that focus on information systems education at an AIS-sponsored or affiliate conference.
AIS Award for Innovation in TeachingThis award recognizes innovation in teaching approaches/techniques (pedagogy) as well as in delivering courses and programs. This award specifically focuses on the uniqueness/innovativeness that increases student interest and drives achievement.
AIS Award for Best Conference Paper in IS Education This award recognizes the importance of pedagogy research in the Information Systems field. Papers thatfocus on IS education-related topics at any AIS sponsored or affiliated conference are eligible for the award.
