AIS Announces Three New Awards
Tuesday, March 24, 2015
AIS is fortunate to have many members who make significant contributions to better the association, the IS industry, and IS education. To recognize the many ways that our members contribute to our discipline, membership services, with the approval of AIS Council, has established three new awards. These annual awards are designed to recognize outstanding contributions from members at different stages of their careers. In the coming months, the association will solicit nominations for:
The Doctoral Student Service Award recognizes volunteer contributions made by doctoral students toward the success of AIS conferences, journals, and programs.
The Early Career Award recognizes individuals in the early stages of their careers who have already made outstanding research, teaching, and/or service contributions to the field of information systems.
The AIS Service Award recognizes longstanding members who have provided leadership within the association, particularly through such activities as participating in the SIGs/chapters/colleges, strengthening the conferences, and participating in AIS-sponsored journals.
These new awards were created through the initiative of the AIS Membership Committee. The timeline for implementing these new awards is as follows:
June 1: Selection committees will be appointed.
August 1 - October 1: Nominations will be accepted via an online submission form.
December 13-16: Awards will be presented and celebrated at ICIS.
